Wheat Germ Bread Recipe
- 4-5 c. flour
- 1 c. wheat germ
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. water
- 2 tbsp. butter
- Combine 1 1/2 c. flour, wheat germ, yeast, sugar and salt.
- Stir in soft butter.
- Heat lowfat milk and water.
- Add in to dry ingredients.
- Beat 2 min, add in flour to make stiff dough.
- Let rise 20 min, divide dough into 3 or possibly 4 parts and roll out like a jelly roll.
- Roll up to create loaf.
- Place in greased loaf pans.
- Cover and chill 2 to 24 hrs.
- Bake 30 to 35 min at 375 degrees.
- Could also be baked on sheet pan.
