Mixed Nut Bars
- 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons cold butter, divided
- 1 can (11 1/2 ounces) mixed nuts
- In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles course crumbs.
- Press into a greased 13 X 9 inch baking pan.
- Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle with the nuts.
- In a microwave, melt butterscotch chips and remaining butter at 70% power for 1 minute.
- Stir.
- Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in corn syrup.
- Pour over nuts.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until set.
- Cool in pan on a wire rack.
