Caprese Sandwich
- Sliced Sourdough Bread
- Olive Oil
- Basil Leaves
- Tomato Slices
- Fresh Mozzarella Slices
- Salt and Pepper
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Brush both sides of bread with olive oil.
- Broil one side until lightly browned.
- On the toasted side, place fresh basil leaves, tomato slices, and fresh mozzarella slices.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Broil until cheese begins to melt.
- Place second slice of bread on top, toasted side down.
- Broil sandwich until lightly browned on top.
- Flip over; broil until lightly browned on top and cheese is melted.
- To eat, dip in balsamic vinegar.
- (I often eat this open-faced.
- If you do, just toast both sides of the bread before broiling.)
