Steak n onion Pie
- 1 kg diced steak/beef
- 3 Brown onions
- 1 liter beef stock
- 400 ml water
- 4 tbsp gravy powder
- 1 salt nd pepper to taste
- 1 puff pastry
- slice up your onions
- dice ur cut into 2-cm cubes
- on hot saucepan brown off your pieces of beef.
- leave juice in the pan as you can sweat your onions off in that meet juice
- sweet off onions in the beef juice until translucent or soft.
- add your beef stock, gravy powder and water, salt nd pepper.
- Cook nd simmer for 2 - 4 hours.
- depending on how soft you want beef.
- longer ut cooks the richer the flavours.
- once beef is soft flavours are good nd nice consistency add to oven proof baking dish
- cut puff pastry into right size.
- push on edges with fork so seels pie.
- poke couple hole through top for air to escape
- place in hot oven on 180 Celsius.
- for about 20 mins or until puff pastry is golden and brown.
- add your favourite to it and enjoy :)
