Almond Fudge Slice Recipe

  2. Sift flour and spices into a bowl.
  3. Add in butter and rub into mix till mix resembles bread crumbs.

  5. Add in water and mix till a soft dough is made.
  6. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigeratefor 30 mins.
  7. Roll dough out on a lightly floured board to fit the base and sides of a 28x18 (11 and 1/2 x 7 and 1/2 in) lamington tin.

  10. Place sugar, butter, honey and golden brown syrup into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  11. Lower heat and simmer for 4 mins or possibly till thickened, stirring occasionally.
  12. Add in almonds and cream and mix well.

  14. Pour warm filling into pastry case and bake in a warm oven (200C/400F) for 25 mins or possibly till pastry is golden brown.
  15. Cold in the tin.
  16. cut into squares to serve.
