Mom's Homemade Veggie Soup

  1. Fill a large stock pot with water 3/4 of the way.
  2. Add both kinds of short ribs.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Remove all the scum that floats to the top.
  5. When very little to no more scum floats up, remove from heat.
  6. Place meat in crock pot.
  7. Strain impurities from broth, and place as much clean broth into the crock pot as can fit, leaving room for veggie to be added later.
  8. Add boullion, onion, tomato, garlic and potato to crock pot.
  9. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  10. Cook frozen veggies according to package directions and add to crock pot.
  11. Cook on high for up to one hour.
  12. Salt and pepper to taste.
