Angelina's Lemon Cookies (Sicily 1911) Recipe

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together.
  2. Beat in Large eggs one at a time.
  3. Add in lemon extract.
  4. Sift flour and baking pwdr together.
  5. Add in to wet ingredients, alternating with lowfat milk.
  6. Roll into balls and bake @425 for 7 min.
  7. When cold, frost and add in sprinkles.
  8. To make frosting, mix confectioners sugar, salt, vanilla.
  9. Adding cream till you get a good thick consistency.
  10. You can substitute Anise flavoring for the lemon extract.
