Maple Syrup Marinade
- 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon minced shallot
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons whole-grain mustard
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 clove garlic, smashed
- 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Large pinch of salt
- To the maple syrup bottle (or a glass bottle with a lid), add the syrup, shallot, vinegar, mustard, rosemary, garlic and pepper.
- Cover and shake vigorously to combine.
- Add the oil, cover and shake vigorously again to combine.
- Season with the salt.
- Use as a marinade for pork chops or chicken.
