Valentine's Day Pink Brownies

  1. Dissolve food colouring in one teaspoon of water.
  2. Line parchment sheet in a square pan.
  3. Preheat the oven to 170C.
  4. Add sugar to the egg white and mix well until white.
  5. No need to whip.
  6. Add jam and food colouring, and mix well.
  7. Sift in the flour and baking powder, and mix.
  8. Add melted butter by trickling it from a spatula into the bowl, and mix.
  9. Add half of the chocolate chips.
  10. Pour the mixture into the pan.
  11. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top.
  12. Bake in a preheated 340F/170C oven for about 30 minutes.
  13. Poke a skewer in the brownie, and if it's clean, the brownie is done.
  14. You don't need to melt the chocolate.
  15. Even so, this brownie has a strong chocolate flavour.
  16. I think this version is tastier than normal brown chocolate brownies.
  17. I used natural food dyes for this.
  18. It is pale and gentle beige pink.
  19. This colour might be not pink enough.
  20. I used red food coloring for the brownie above.
  21. The color is not too strong, so I recommend to use food coloring for this recipe.
