My Grandmother's Deep-Dish Apple Pie

  1. Toss apple pieces, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl until apple pieces are well coated.
  2. Place them in a deep pie plate or caserole.
  3. Dot with butter.
  4. Top with a pie crust, bringing edges over sides of dish and pressing them with a fork.
  5. Prick crust in several places with a fork.
  6. Bake at 350F (180C) for 30 to 40 minutes or until done.
  7. Serve plain or with cream or hard sauce.
