Butterscotch Pie - Easy Caramel Pie

  1. Put unopened can of sweetened condensed milk in deep kettle and cover with water.
  2. Simmer for 4 hours.
  3. Add water as it simmers so can is covered all the time.
  4. Remove with tongs and cool until you can handle it.
  5. Open and pour into crust.
  6. Cool completely in refrigerator.
  7. Top with whipped topping.
