Layered Taco Bake
- 1 can refried beans
- 1 lb Ground Turkey (or beef)
- 1 envelope Taco Seasoning
- 1 packages Velveeta Cheese Sauce
- 4 flour tortilla
- 1/2 cup Shredded Mexican blend cheese
- 1/2 Tomato, diced
- 2 pinch Cilantro, minced (optional)
- Pre-heat oven to 350
- Brown meat
- Add taco seasoning to meat -follow directions of package
- Take 1 flour torilla, place in pan (I use round glass 9 inch pie pan)
- Spread spoonful of refried beans on tortilla, preference on how thick, but will need for 3 total layers
- Spread some of the cheese sauce on the refried beans
- Sprinkle meat on top of refried beans and cheese sauce
- Repeat steps 4 - 7 a total of 2 more times.
- After placing 3 layers, add another flour tortilla on top of last layer
- Add shredded cheese on top of tortilla
- Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, or until cheese melted
- Once out of oven, add tomato and cilantro or whatever toppinga you desire
- I always try new things with this recipe.
- Some ideas are using black beans instead of refried beans; enchilada sauce instead of cheese sauce; adding a can of rotel, etc.
- It mixes the recipe up!
