Caramel Apple Pork Chops Recipe
- 4 x (3/4 inch) thick pork chops
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar salt and pepper to taste
- 1/8 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp grnd nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 x tart apples - peeled, cored and sliced
- 3 Tbsp. minced pecans (optional)
- 1 Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.
- Brush chops lightly with oil, and place in warm pan.
- Cook for 5 to 6 min, turning occasionally, or possibly till proportionately browned.
- Transfer to a hot dish, and keep hot in a low oven.
- 2 In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Add in butter to skillet, and stir in brown sugar mix and apples.
- Cover, and cook for 3 to 4 min, or possibly just till apples are tender.
- Remove apples with a slotted spoon, and arrange on top of chops.
- Keep hot.
- 3 Continue cooking mix in skillet, uncovered, till sauce thickens slightly.
- Spoon sauce over apples and chops.
- Sprinkle with pecans, if you like.
