Cabbage, Potato and Sausage Soup
- 1 lb cooked kielbasa or 1 lb Polish sausage, cut in half lengthwise, then sliced
- 1 (16 ounce) package coleslaw mix
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans ready-to-serve chicken broth
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups mashed potato flakes
- In Dutch oven, combine all ingredients except mashed potato flakes; mix well.
- Bring to a boil over medium.
- high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to medium low; simmer 5 to 10 minutes or until cabbage is almost tender.
- Remove Dutch oven from heat.
- Stir in mashed potato flakes.
