Easy Simmered Mackerel in White Miso

  1. Wash the surface of the mackerel skin and drain it with a paper towel.
  2. Combine all the broth ingredients in a pot and mix well until the white miso dissolves.
  3. Add the mackerel and simmer.
  4. Skim the scum off when it simmers.
  5. Cover with a piece of aluminium foil and cook over low to medium heat.
  6. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Keep simmering until the broth has thickened.
