Hamburgers With Jerked Caramelized Onions

  1. Peel and halve the onions.
  2. Slice into thin slices.
  3. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a large frying pan.
  4. In a wide frying pan over medium heat, cook the onions in butter, for 20 minutes.
  5. Stir frequently to keep onions from burning.
  6. Add the jerk seasoning to the onions, and turn the pan down to it's lowest heat.
  7. Or you may put the onions in a microwave-proof dish and nuke when burgers are done.
  8. Form the ground beef into four patties and grill, fry or broil until they are done.
  9. Top with cheese during the last few minutes so as to melt it.
  10. Toast the hamburger buns, if desired.
  11. Place burger on buns and top with the caramelized onions.
  12. Serve with mustard and ketchup, if desired.
