Butter-Nut Strips

  1. Cream butter; gradually add 1/4 c sugar, beating till light and fluffy.
  2. Add flavoring and flour; beat till smooth.
  3. Shape into a ball; chill.
  4. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Cut into 2 1/2 x 1/2-inch strips; place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Brush tops lightly with egg white.
  7. Combine 1 tablespoon sugar and almonds; sprinkle over egg white.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minute or till lightly browned.
