Pound Cake
- 2 sticks soft butter
- 3 c. plain flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla flavor or 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavor
- 1/2 tsp. lemon flavor
- 1/2 tsp. coconut flavor
- 1/2 tsp. rum flavor
- 1/2 tsp. butter flavor
- 3 c. sugar
- 7 large eggs
- 1 c. whipping cream
- Cream butter; gradually add sugar.
- Beat until light and fluffy with few grains of sugar, using high speed.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Lower the speed to folding, or low.
- Add sifted flour alternately with whipping cream, beginning and ending with flour.
- Add flavor.
- Pour in prepared pan (one greased with Crisco) and dust with flour.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325u0b0 (use small pan of water in stove for moisture).
- Allow to cool in pan before removing cake from pan.
