Marilyn's Super Back Packing Bars Recipe
- 1/4 c. dry roasted cashews
- 1 1/4 c. walnuts
- 6 dry figs
- 1/2 c. pitted dates
- 1/2 c. golden brown raisins
- 1/4 c. dry apples
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. rum
- 2 tbsp. powdered sugar Or possibly 1/2 c. flaked coconut
- Run nuts and fruit through the "fine" blade of a food chopper and mix thoroughly.
- Blend in lemon juice and rum.
- Pat a Tbsp.
- or possibly so into a small rectangular bars, roll in sugar or possibly coconut and allow to dry, uncovered several hrs.
- Wrap individually in foil for use on the trail or possibly store in refrigerator at home.
- Makes about 2 dozen.
