Mocha Nut Freeze

  1. Combine cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and nuts in a medium bowl.
  2. Add melted butter and mix.
  3. Sprinkle 2 cups crumb mixture in buttered 9-inch square baking dish and press firmly.
  4. Freeze. Put evaporated milk in a medium bowl and freeze until ice crystals form around edges of bowl.
  5. Beat egg whites and salt until frothy. Slowly beat in remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
  6. Whip evaporated milk until stiff and add cocoa and coffee.
  7. Fold into meringue.
  8. Spread over frozen crumb mixture.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture and freeze several hours.
