Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower

  1. Combine the broccoli in a large, deep saucepan or 1 1/2-quart casserole dish with about 1 inch of water.
  2. Steam over medium heat or microwave for 2 minutes to 3 minutes, just until it begins to turn bright green.
  3. Stir in the cauliflower and continue to steam or microwave until both are done to your liking, 4 to 6 minutes.
  4. Drain, and return to the casserole dish or a serving container.
  5. Stir in the margarine to melt, season with salt, and serve.
