Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower
- 2 medium broccoli crowns, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 small head cauliflower, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 tablespoon nonhydrogenated margarine
- Pinch of salt
- Combine the broccoli in a large, deep saucepan or 1 1/2-quart casserole dish with about 1 inch of water.
- Steam over medium heat or microwave for 2 minutes to 3 minutes, just until it begins to turn bright green.
- Stir in the cauliflower and continue to steam or microwave until both are done to your liking, 4 to 6 minutes.
- Drain, and return to the casserole dish or a serving container.
- Stir in the margarine to melt, season with salt, and serve.
