Blondie's Microwave Butter Toffee

  1. In a large microwave safe bowl, mix sugar, butter, water, and corn syrup.
  2. Microwave on high power (100%) 4 minutes; stir
  3. Stirring every 2 minutes, microwave 6- 8 minutes longer or until mixture thickens and turns golden.
  4. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Pour mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee; spread with a spatula.
  7. Before chocolate hardens, sprinkle with walnuts.
  8. Cool completely.
  9. Break into pieces.
  10. Store in an airtight container.
