Vickys Seasoned Salts, Christmas Gift Idea
- 1 zest of 2 lemons
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp chilli flakes
- 125 grams sea salt flakes
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 15 grams fresh finely chopped rosemary
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 125 grams sea salt flakes
- 1 zest of an orange
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp ground white pepper
- 125 grams sea salt flakes
- 3 small jars
- For each seasoned salt the same method applies:
- Stir the 4 ingredients together in a frying pan over a low heat for 3-4 minutes or until the zest dries
- Allow to cool then fill your small jars with the flavoured salts
- Write the name and use by date on a label tied to each container.
- The salts are best used within 3 months
- Lemon/chilli goes well with roast chicken.
- Rosemary/cumin is good with lamb.
- Orange/fennel is great with pork
