Spicy and Salty Squid

  1. Peel off the skin of fresh squid and gut; clean thoroughly.
  2. Cut the squid into thick strips.
  3. Set aside and drain.
  4. Place squid in a bowl, add egg, salt, sesame oil, white pepper, 3-tbsp cornstarch and 1-tbsp oil and soy sauce.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Heat up a pot with oil.
  7. Deep-fry squid with maximum heat until crispy.
  8. Remove and put aside.
  9. In a wok, stir-fry garlic shallots, and red chili in 1 tablespoon oil.
  10. Reduce the heat, place the deep-fried squids in wok.
  11. Season with salt and serve right away.
