Skewered Scallops with Orange-Sesame Dipping Sauce

  1. Mix first 7 ingredients in medium bowl to blend well.
  2. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead.
  3. Cover; chill.)
  4. Mix in remaining ingredients.
  5. Season orange-sesame sauce with salt and pepper.
  6. Heat peanut oil and sesame oil in heavy large skillet over high heat.
  7. Sprinkle scallops with salt and pepper.
  8. Add to skillet; saute until just opaque in center, about 2 minutes per side.
  9. Transfer to large bowl.
  10. Add mint and cilantro; toss to coat.
  11. Thread 1 scallop onto each skewer.
  12. Arrange skewers decoratively on platter.
  13. Serve with sauce.
  14. Chili-garlic sauce is available at Asian markets and in the Asian foods section of many supermarkets.
