Crab Chowder With Snow Peas

  1. Heat clam juice and water to boiling in a large saucepan.
  2. Stir in rice, scallions and gingerroot; reduce heat and simmer, covered, until the rice is tender; about 20 minutes.
  3. Stir in crabmeat and snow peas; simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in sherry, milk and sorrel.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
