Brown Gravy Recipe

  2. After roasting meat in Microwave Oven remove meat from baking dish and set aside.
  3. Pour pan drippings into a bowl, leaving residue in baking dish.
  4. Allow fat to rise to the top.
  5. Skim off 2 Tbsp.
  6. fat and return it to the baking dish.
  7. Throw away any remaining fat.
  8. 2.
  9. Reserve pan drippings and pour into a 1 c. measuring c.. Add in beef broth, if necessary to make 1 c.. Set aside.

  11. Blend flour and salt and pepper, to taste, into fat in baking dish.
  12. 4.
  13. Heat, uncovered, in Microwave Oven 5 to 7 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  14. 5.
  15. Gradually add in reserved pan drippings.
  16. Heat, uncovered, in Microwave Oven 2 min or possibly till thickened and smooth.
  17. Stir gravy every 30 seconds during cooking.
  18. 6.
  19. If you like, brown bouquet sauce may be added to gravy for color.
  20. Makes 1 c.
