Russian Bread Recipe

  1. Dissolve yeast in scalded lowfat milk (tepid).
  2. Add in 1 1/2 c. flour.
  3. Mix till smooth.
  4. Let stand till light and fluffy.
  5. Add in Large eggs, sugar, butter, salt and remaining flour and cinnamon.
  6. Mix to a stiff dough, knead thoroughly.
  7. Let stand till double.
  8. Bake about 30 min at 350 degrees.
  9. NOTE: I like to divide in three parts---braid (as you would your hair) and put it on a cookie sheet to bake.
  10. Make-up a small amount of icing as you would for cookies and pour on top area.
