Brussels Sprout Casserole with Bacon & Gorgonzola
- 3 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 3 strips Bacon, Chopped
- 3 cups Brussels Sprouts, Sliced
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1- 1/2 Tablespoon All-purpose Flour
- 3/4 cups Whipping Cream
- 1/2 cups Half-and-half
- 1/2 cups Mozzarella, Shredded
- 1/2 cups Gorgonzola Crumbles
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Spray a 3-quart baking dish (or smaller) with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet, melt butter and add bacon.
- Crisp bacon for about 5 minutes.
- Then add Brussels sprouts with a little salt and pepper and continue to cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add flour, stir, and cook for another minute.
- Gradually add cream and half-and-half.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and cook another 5 minutes.
- Remove skillet from heat and stir in mozzarella.
- Pour Brussels sprout mixture into baking dish and sprinkle top with Gorgonzola.
- Bake for about 25 minutes and, with a few minutes left, turn broiler on to get a nice golden cheesy crust on top.
- Serve immediately.
