Nutty Maple Candy

  1. melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in a double boiler -- add peanut butter, stirring till smooth --
  2. spread 1 3/4 cup mixture into a buttered jelly roll pan -- refrigerate till firm.
  3. set remaining mixture aside --
  4. melt butter in a heavy pan, stir in evaporated milk and pudding mix --
  5. heat over medium heat till thickened.
  6. remove from heat, add maple flavoring and vanilla --
  7. stir in powdered sugar, spread over chilled chocolate mixture.return to refrigerator.remelt if necessary.remaining chocolate mixture in the pan -- stir in nuts --
  8. carefully spread over pudding mixture --
  9. refrigerate till firm --
  10. cut into squares to serve.
