Pie Crusts Recipe
- 4 c. flour, unsifted
- 1 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- Combine the flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in shortening.
- Beat together vinegar, egg and water.
- Stir into flour mix.
- Divide into 4 equal portions.
- Place in wax paper.
- Refrigerateat least 30 min before rolling out on floured surface.
- If baking before filling, prick bottom and side walls with fork; bake at 450 degrees for 10 min.
- Bake till crust is golden brown.
- For a filled shell, bake according to pie filling recipe.
