Refried Anasazi Beans

  1. In a saucepan, combine beans and water and cook at a gentle boil for 1-1/2 hours or until tender.
  2. Drain beans, reserving liquid.
  3. In a skillet, saute onion, pepper, garlic and bacon.
  4. Add sauteed ingredients to beans and mash all together, adding liquid a little at a time, until mixture is smooth.
  5. Serve with tortillas or cornbread.
