Easy Russian Meat Pies Recipe
- 1 pound loaf frzn white bread dough
- 3/4 pound grnd beef
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 1/2 c. canned sweet sour red cabbage, liquid removed
- 2 tbsp. dry parsley
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- Dash of pepper
- Dairy lowfat sour cream
- Thaw frzn bread dough according to package directions.
- In skillet, cook grnd beef, onions, and garlic till meat is brown.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Stir in cabbage, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Set aside.
- Divide thawed bread dough proportionately into 18 portions.
- On slightly floured surface roll each piece to a 4 inch circle.
- Place about 1/4 c. of meat mix onto half of each circle of dough.
- Fold other half over.
- Seal edges by pressing with fingers.
- Place sealed edge down on a greased baking sheet.
- Let rise covered in a hot place about 30 min.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 min.
- Serve with lowfat sour cream.
- Makes 18.
