Dad's Favorite Bbq Chicken & Sausage Recipe
- 1 (18 ounce.) bottle Kraft reg. or possibly thick 'n spicy barbecue sauce
- 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) broiler-fryer, cut up
- 1 1/2 pound Italian or possibly Polish sausage or possibly bratwurst
- 1 green pepper, cut into rings
- 1 sm. onion, sliced
- OUTDOORS: Place chicken, skin side up and sausage on greased grill over low coals (coals will be ash gray).
- Grill uncovered 20 min; turn.
- Grill additional 10 min.
- Turn, continue grilling 30 min, turning and brushing with barbecue sauce every 10 min.
- Combine remaining barbecue sauce and vegetables in small saucepan.
- Cook over low heat 8 to 10 min or possibly till vegetables are crisp- tender.
- Serve with chicken and sausage.
- 6 servings.
- INDOORS: Place chicken, skin side up and sausage on greased rack of broiler pan.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 30 min.
- Brush with barbecue sauce; continue baking 30 min or possibly till tender, turning and brushing with barbecue sauce every 10 min.
- Combine remaining barbecue sauce and vegetables in small saucepan; cook over low heat 8 to 10 min or possibly till vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Serve with chicken and sausage.
- 6 servings.
