Chocolate Almond Shortcake
- 1 14 cups flour
- 1 14 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 egg
- 4 ounces sugar
- 1 teaspoon cocoa
- 4 ounces butter
- 4 ounces butter, melted
- 8 ounces icing sugar
- 4 ounces flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon almond essence
- Cream butter and sugar, add egg, beat well.
- Add sifted dry ingredients.
- Press into swiss roll tin.
- Bake 20 minutes about 400 0F.
- ALMOND TOPPING- Beat egg and butter, add essence, then dry ingredients.
- Mix well.
- Spread on base.
- Allow to set.
- Ice with chocolate icing.
