Chocolate Almond Shortcake

  1. Cream butter and sugar, add egg, beat well.
  2. Add sifted dry ingredients.
  3. Press into swiss roll tin.
  4. Bake 20 minutes about 400 0F.
  5. ALMOND TOPPING- Beat egg and butter, add essence, then dry ingredients.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Spread on base.
  8. Allow to set.
  9. Ice with chocolate icing.
