Candy Apple Pie

  1. In a large bowl, toss apples with lime juice.
  2. Combine dry ingredients; add to the apples and toss lightly.
  3. Place bottom pastry in a 9-inch pie plate; fill with apple mixture.
  4. Dot with butter.
  5. Cover with top crust.
  6. Flue edges high; cut steam vents.
  7. Bake at 400F for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender.
  8. Meanwhile, for topping, melt butter in a small saucepan.
  9. Stir in brown sugar and cream; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  10. Remove from the heat and stir in pecans.
  11. Pour over top crust.
  12. Return to the oven for 3 to 4 minutes or until bubbly.
  13. Serve warm.
