Citrus Fritters
- 2 cups SR flour
- 2 tablespoon caster sugar
- 1 1/2 -2 cups water
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- Citrus Philly Filling
- 125g block PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- rind of 1/4 orange
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice Safeway 4 ct For $5.00 thru 02/09
- rind of 1/4 lemon Safeway 4 ct For $5.00 thru 02/09
- Sift flour and sugar into a medium sized bowl.
- Gradually stir in water to make a smooth paste.
- Heat oil and butter in a large frypan.
- Drop a tablespoon of fritter mixture into the pan.
- Top with 2 teaspoons of citrus Philly* filling and then cover with an extra tablespoon of fritter mixture.
- Cook until golden brown underneath; flip over and cook the other side until browned and cooked through.
- Serve hot.
- Citrus Filling Mix: Combine all ingredients until smooth.
