Peek-A-Berry Boos

  1. Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
  2. Sift first 4 ingredients.
  3. Cream sugars and shortening.
  4. Add eggs, water and extract; beat well. Blend in dry ingredients and rolled oats.
  5. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Place 1/2 teaspoon jam on each cookie.
  7. Press jam lightly into dough.
  8. Top with level teaspoon of dough.
  9. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
