Baked Beans Vermont Style Recipe

  1. Soak beans overnight and parboil till the skins break when you blow on a spoonful.
  2. Put bean in a bean pot and por in a mix of the remaining ingredients.
  3. Place the salt pork on top.
  4. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees till the salt pork browns (about 1/2 hour).
  5. Turn oven down to 325 degrees and bake uncovered for 6 - 8 hrs.
  6. Check the beans every hour or possibly so and add in boiling water when the beans look dry on top.
