Do It Yourself Biscuit Mix Recipe
- 9 c. unbleached flour
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk pwdr
- 1/3 c. baking pwdr
- 4 teaspoon salt
- 2 c. vegetable shortening
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- In a large bowl combine flour, buttermilk pwdr, baking pwdr and salt.
- Add in shortening and blend in with either a heavy duty mixer or possibly a pastry blender.
- When well blended, it will resemble corn meal.
- Store the fold in a tightly covered container.
- It will keep 12 weeks on the pantry shelf and 6 months in the refrigerator.
- Makes 12 c..
