Chicken Stew with Indian Spices
- 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1/2 cups Onion, Cut Into Long Thin Slices
- 2 teaspoons Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 whole Chicken, Cut Into Pieces
- 1/4 cups Yogurt Make Sure The Yogurt Is Thick (Reserve 1 Tablespoon For Garnish)
- 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
- 1 cup Water
- 1/2 whole Cinnamon Stick
- 1 whole Black Cardamom
- 2 whole Green Cardamom
- 2 whole Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 2 teaspoons Salt, As Per Your Taste
- Combine the spice mixture.
- Heat oil in the pressure cooker (placed on the stovetop) on high heat then add all the mentioned spices and saute for 30-40 seconds.
- Add onion and ginger garlic paste and fry till onions are translucent.
- Now add chicken, brown it on both sides, then reduce heat to medium and cook till chicken is almost cooked (10-12 minutes).
- Add yogurt and ketchup, mix well to cover the chicken and saute for another 5-6 minutes.
- Now add water, put the pressure-cooker lid on and cook on high (according to your pressure cooker instructions) until 4-5 steam whistles are heard.
- After 4-5 whistles, turn off the heat and let the pressure cooker cool.
- Once cooled, open the lid, pour the mixture into a serving bowl, drizzle the top with a tablespoon of yogurt and serve hot.
