Easy Apple Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together.
  3. Add apples and toss well to coat completely.
  4. Unroll first crust and press gently with fingers into pie tin.
  5. Add apple filling evenly and press down slightly.
  6. Top with second crust, gently press down on edges to seal and cut excess dough away from tin with a sharp knife.
  7. Cut several slits in top to vent.
  8. Crimp crust all the way around the circumference with a fork.
  9. Brush top crust with beaten egg.
  10. Cover edge of crust with a layer of aluminum foil to prevent burning.
  11. Bake for 45 minutes or until top crust is golden brown.
