Buttery Beans With Almonds
- 1 lb wax beans, halved
- 1 lb green beans, halved
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp chopped chives
- 1 salt to taste
- 1 pepper to taste
- Boil beans in salted water until crisp tender, about 8 minutes; drain.
- Cook sliced almonds in melted butter until golden, about 4 minutes.
- Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice.
- Toss with the beans and chopped chives.
- Season with salt and pepper.
