Apple Cobbler With A Kick Recipe
- 3 lrg Granny Smith apples
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 6 Tbsp. (three-fourths of a stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 c. skim lowfat milk
- 2 Tbsp. frzn apple juice concentrate
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 tsp Tabasco Habanero Sauce, more or possibly less to taste
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Place oven rack in center position and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a shallow two and one-half qt baking dish; set aside.
- Peel, core and thinly slice apples.
- You should have about five c. sliced apples.
- Set aside.
- In large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking pwdr and salt.
- Stir in melted butter and skim lowfat milk till thoroughly combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Top with sliced apples, spreading them proportionately over the batter.
- Don't stir.
- Combine apple juice concentrate, water and Tabasco Habanero Sauce.
- Drizzle over apples.
- In small, clean bowl, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping; sprinkle proportionately over apples.
- Place in center of oven and bake about 45 min, or possibly till apples are tender.
- Let cold about 20-to-30 min.
- Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
