Mom's Raisin Cookies Recipe
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. raisins
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Large eggs, beaten lightly
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and nutmeg
- 1/2 c. minced walnuts
- Combine raisins and water in pan.
- Bring to boil and cook 3 min.
- Remove from heat and let cold.
- Cream shortening, add in sugar and beat till fluffy.
- Add in Large eggs and vanilla, mix well.
- Combine dry ingredients, add in to creamed mix and blend thoroughly.
- Stir in nuts and raisins.
- Drop by tsp.
- 2 inches apart on greased sheet.
- bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 min.
