Cheese & Shallot Party Spread

  1. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add shallots and sugar.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until shallots are browned and caramelized.
  3. Immediately remove from heat.
  4. Cool 10 minutes.
  5. Combine shallot mixture and all remaining spread ingredients in bowl.
  6. Beat at medium speed until creamy.
  7. Cover; refrigerate 1 hour.
  8. Shape cheese mixture on waxed paper into pine cone shape.
  9. Place onto serving plate.
  10. Insert sliced almonds at an angle to resemble pine cone.
  11. Cover; refrigerate 2 hours or overnight to blend flavors.
  12. Garnish with rosemary sprigs just before serving, if desired.
  13. Serve with assorted crackers.
