Teriyaki Chikuwa Rolls with Quail Eggs
- 10 Quail eggs
- 5 Chikuwa
- 1 tbsp Katakuriko
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 10 Toothpicks
- 2 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 1 tbsp Mirin
- Boil the quail eggs and peels the shells.
- Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise.
- Wrap around the quail eggs, and secure with toothpicks.
- Put the katakuriko and Step 1 into a plastic bag as shown in the picture, and gently shake to coat.
- Heat oil in a frying pan, and fry Step 2 until golden brown.
- When they become crispy, wipe off the excess oil with a paper towel.
- Add all the teriyaki sauce ingredients to Step 3, and when they become shiny, they are done.
