Maple Syrup Flavored Sugar Rusk for Gifting
- 1 Baguette or Sandwich bread
- 50 grams Maple syrup
- 150 grams Unsalted butter
- 80 grams Granulated sugar
- 1 appropriate amount Granulated sugar for garnish
- Slice the bread into 1.5 cm.
- If you use sandwich bread, cut into quarters.
- I used bread I made with my baking machine.
- Melt butter and then granulated sugar over medium heat.
- Make sure not to let it burn.
- When it has thickened, turn the heat off and add maple syrup and mix.
- Put sliced bread on a parchment paper lined baking pan.
- Spread a generous portion of the maple appareil on top.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar for garnish.
- Cinnamon sugar is also good.
- Preheat the oven to 284F/140C and bake for 50 minutes.
- When the surface has dried, if it doesn't yield under the pressure of your finger, it's done.
