Beef Stew With Stout

  1. Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt butter in skillet over med-high heat.
  3. Add beef and saute until brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  4. With slotted spoon transfer beef to a bowl and set aside.
  5. Reduce heat to med-low.
  6. Add carrots and onions to skillet; toss to coat with pan juices.
  7. Add flour; stir 1 minute.
  8. Add broth and stout.
  9. Add beef and any juices left in the bowl.
  10. Cover skillet; simmer until beef and carrots are tender, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
  11. Season with salt and pepper.
