Strawberry Sherbet

  1. Soften gelatin by sprinkling it over cold water; let it soak until all gelatin is moist.
  2. Then add gelatin to boiling water and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add sugar, strawberries, buttermilk and lemon juice.
  4. Stir until mixed well.
  5. Pour into two square baking dishes and place in freezer.
  6. When half frozen, scrape into a bowl; beat with electric mixer.
  7. Return to dishes and freeze until firm.
